Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević said today that he will accept the resignation of the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesić and added that he has no doubt that the minister is not subjectively guilty of anything that happened in Novi Sad on November 1.
Vucevic told Radio Television of Serbia that Goran Vesić's decision is the act of a serious man who is aware that when he performs an important function, he also has the burden of responsibility.
"I have no doubt that Goran Vesić is not subjectively guilty of anything that happened on November 1 in Novi Sad," said Vučević and added that Vesić is objectively responsible because he heads that department.
"I will, and we had several phone conversations in the previous days, accept his resignation with gratitude for everything he did during the mandate of this and the previous government. I can't say that he didn't do his job well, but in politics there is responsibility for things that you are not personally to blame. I understood his message and resignation," said Vucevic.
The Prime Minister said that it would be illogical to end everything with the resignation of Minister Goran Vesić.
The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Goran Vesić, announced last night that he will resign, after the fall of the canopy at the Railway Station in Novi Sad, when 14 people died and three were seriously injured.
