The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said today that people are concerned about the accident in which 14 people died at the railway station in Novi Sad and that they are looking for responsibility, and asked the members of the Government of Serbia to show responsibility, stating that they have to show it and make a difference.
"I know that some people deliberately did not resign, or they were not allowed to resign before that rally (protest in Novi Sad) so that it would not be said that it was done under pressure from someone else. Now is your chance, show moral and political responsibility ", said Vučić to the Radio-television of Serbia in Baku.
He asked prosecutors to continue working hard to establish criminal responsibility, adding that he knows how complicated this case is.
"We have to show not only piety, not only concern for the families of the victims, but also that we are a responsible society and that we will know how to criminally punish those who are guilty, and political and moral responsibility must be on a higher level. Precisely in order to make the difference between those who are irresponsible and those who think they can get something by deception," said Vučić.
Speaking about last night's protest of the opposition in Belgrade, he said that he correctly estimated that there would be no problems and that the rally would be unsuccessful.
"I made a good assessment, because they made many catastrophic mistakes. You can't deceive the people, you can't use every tragedy to score political points. On the other hand, you can't tell the people that Vučić didn't light the candle, and then we show them the picture where I lit a candle," he said.
He called on those who think differently from the authorities to concentrate and offer plans and programs for Serbia, stating that the elections will be in two years, two years and three months at the most.
Asked about the reconstruction of the Government of Serbia, he said that it was a matter for Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and the Serbian Progressive Party, but that he would certainly express his opinion if asked.
"I think significant changes are needed in this regard as well, some people got tired, they got used to being ministers and it became a routine for them, and that is not good. You have to have energy. If after all these years you don't have blood, energy and more energy than I have, then you are not for that position. If you come to work at 9.30 and leave at 11.30 because you have smarter things to do, then that job is not for you," said Vučić.
He added that he is absolutely sure that the coalition partners will be re-examined in the task of reconstructing the Government.
"In your relationship with someone, you have ten rungs on the ladder. You don't lose trust all of a sudden in a relationship. Make one mistake, third, fifth, trust goes down. At some point, trust has no more rungs to go down. Then it's time to you change things," said Vučić.
