The head of the committee group of the Green-Left Front (ZLF) in the Assembly of Belgrade, Natalija Stojmenović, said that before today's session, she poured red paint on the table of the chairman in the city parliament.
"I wanted to send a message that this is how the workplace of this city government should look," Stojmenović told reporters before the session.
She stated that one of the reasons for that was that she asked the Institute for Public Health to sample the land near the Hotel "Yugoslavia" due to citizens' fear of asbestos, but that she received the answer that they did not have a laboratory for this and that they referred her to private laboratories .
"This is what the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) has been telling us all the time, that this is not our city, but a private city of the SNS, since the demolition in Savamala, until today," said Stojmenović.
She assessed that today's session of the City Assembly shows the clear intention of the ruling coalition of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) in running the city.
"And that is that politics is such that you can only see how deep their bloody hands can dig into their own full pockets. Those pockets are filled by not solving the problems of the citizens and by not having an answer to pressing problems," said Stojmenović.
She agreed with Mayor Aleksandar Šapić's statement that ten people are carrying out serious anarchy in Belgrade and harassing the citizens, but stated that they are Šapić and his City Council.
