The Director of the Office for Kosovo of the Government of Serbia, Petar Petković, accused the Government of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti of "lies and spins" regarding the explosion that damaged the Ibar-Lepenac canal.
"Kurti admitted that he did not have any evidence about this case. Thus it was shown how much the attack on the official Belgrade was an empty story and that in fact the whole case of damage to the canal was used for political purposes and Kurti's election campaign", according to the statement signed by Petković, reacting to the press conference of the Prime Minister of Kosovo.
The statement did not respond to Kurti's request to extradite Milan Radoičić to the Kosovo authorities.
Kurti said that the Serbian politician and businessman is the "essential reason" for the attacks that have occurred and may occur in the future in Kosovo.
The attack in Ibar-Lepenca is the third in the last 72 hours in the north of Kosovo, populated mostly by Serbs, after the explosions that took place in the police station and the municipal building in Zvečan.
The explosion on the canal in the village of Varage near the municipality of Zubin Potok caused no casualties, but created a large crack in its side wall, which caused water to spill out of the canal, causing some parts of the country to face water shortages.
Kosovo blamed Serbia for this attack, which Serbia denied.
