Yesterday, part of the students of the University of Belgrade continued to blockade several faculties, demanding that those who perpetrated repression against the students, at the gatherings where honor was paid to those killed in Novi Sad, be held accountable.
They are also demanding the publication of all contracts related to the reconstruction of the Novi Sad Railway Station, where 1 people died and two were seriously injured in the fall of the canopy on November 15, as well as the release of activists and students arrested during rallies on that occasion.
The professor of the Faculty of Biology in Belgrade, Biljana Stojković, announced that the faculty has officially entered the blockade since yesterday, and that more than 80 percent of its students have declared in favor of it.
"I am proud of your maturity, awareness of the society in which you live and the courage to be free people," she wrote on the social network Iks.
Students from Novi Sad continue to block the work of the Faculty of Philosophy, and yesterday they were joined by colleagues from Niš blocking the University building in that city, Beta reported. The students, organized as an informal group, request that the University of Nis make an announcement regarding the events at the faculties in Belgrade and Novi Sad, as well as regarding the tragedy in Novi Sad.
N1 announced that the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad was also blocked, where students' demands were posted at the entrance of the faculty building.
In Belgrade, the Rectorate of the University, the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Philosophy, Philology, Architecture, Science and Mathematics, the Faculty of Physical Chemistry, the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, and the Faculty of Political Sciences are blocked, according to Beta.
A blockade of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences was announced for Friday, while the Faculty of Law, also for Friday, announced the interruption of classes and a blockade of the intersection for 15 minutes, and a meeting of students of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy was scheduled for last night.
Acting Dean of the Belgrade Faculty of Political Sciences (FPN) Darko Nadić announced yesterday that classes will not be held until the end of Sunday, due to the student blockade at that faculty.
"On Thursday, the Faculty administration and department heads will adopt a plan to make up for missed teaching activities, and we will inform all employees about this," said the announcement of the FPN signed by Nadić.
And the Rector's College of the University of Belgrade announced that it continued with regular work even during the blockade of the Rectorate building by a group of students, adding that the employees were not hindered in their work, and the property of the University was not threatened.
"We respect students' right to freedom of thought and expression, including critical thinking as an inalienable part of individual rights in a democratic society and especially in the academic community. At the same time, we appeal that the dialogue takes place in a constructive spirit, with respect for the institutions and their role", they added.
In the announcement, they also stated that the University of Belgrade remains committed to providing support to students within its competences and responsibilities.
