Ten members of an organized criminal group that smuggled cocaine throughout Europe were arrested in a coordinated operation by the German and Serbian police, which was carried out today with the support of Eurojust.
During the day, around 30 locations in Serbia and Germany were searched, six kilograms of cocaine, several cars, weapons, ammunition, luxury wristwatches, at least 60.000 euros in cash, a device for detecting intercepted communications, but also several mobile phones and laptops were seized.
That clan allegedly smuggled cocaine from the Netherlands to the Rhine-Main region from 2022, and in several cafes they bartered and sold drugs.
Cocaine was transported to those locations in cars with hidden compartments, the so-called. bunkers, and couriers transported drugs to Serbia, but also to other European Union states and third countries.
Eurojust said that among those arrested were alleged organizers, couriers and street dealers.
The Serbian part of that criminal group "worked" from a cafe in Sremska Mitrovica.
Eurojust supported the German and Serbian authorities in establishing and financing a joint investigation team (JIT), whose focus was that organized criminal group, and the Agency explains that today around 400 police officers were deployed on the ground in Germany and Serbia.
