The members of the opposition in the Serbian Parliament submitted a request for the dismissal of the Speaker of the Parliament Ana Brnabić, announced the member of the Green-Left Front Radomir Lazović.
He said at the press conference that the request was submitted due to "violation of the Constitution of Serbia, the Law on the Assembly and the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly".
"The competence of the Assembly is to enact laws, amend laws, adopt the budget, and the adoption of laws and the adoption of the budget must be preceded by a public discussion. The public hearing is conducted in principle and in detail, and every MP has the right to participate in the hearing," said Lazović, reports N1.
According to him, Brnabić's behavior was inappropriate.
"You could see her behavior at the session. The session was practically not even held, because the discussion was not held either in its entirety or in detail," said Lazović.
He stated that Brnabić misled the public that no one spoke in the debate on the amendments, because he and another MP spoke.
"Also, at the previous session, Brnabić did not allow the proposal for a vote of no confidence in the Government, on the proposal of 85 deputies", emphasized Lazović.
He added that Brnabić, instead of allowing the proposal for a vote of no confidence in the Government, started an "unprecedented manipulation of the parliament".
Lazović stated that Brnabić was afraid of the discussion about no confidence in the Government, that is, the regime's responsibility for the suffering of people in Novi Sad.
"We believe that the illegal actions of the President of the Assembly resulted in the unconstitutional adoption of the Law on the Budget and other decisions, which is why we will initiate proceedings before the competent courts," said Lazović.
He said that what happened at the last session of the parliament was "historical manipulation by Brnabić with the aim of not allowing any discussion about the suffering of people in Novi Sad".
Lazović said that in the request for Brnabić's dismissal, one can see how many places the law, the Constitution of Serbia and the Rules of Procedure have been violated.
"It is about numerous violations and manipulations of Ana Brnabić. She does not deserve to be the president of the Assembly. We will do everything so that she does not stay in this place", said Lazović.
