At least eight children in the area of Banja Luka and Laktaš were injured while performing the "Superman Challenge" from TikTok, Banja Luka media reported, citing unofficial sources.
It was stated that a student from the fifth grade of Sveti Sava Elementary School in Banja Luka's Lauš neighborhood had both arms broken on Monday during the Superman challenge, in which two children throw a third child into the air.
The incident was reported to the police by the girl's mother, stating that her daughter was grabbed by the shoulders by two boys during a small break and thrown backwards.
Miroslav Popržen, the principal of this elementary school, who is also the president of the Association of Principals of Elementary Schools in the Banja Luka region, told Nezavisne novine that the student's injury was the result of a TikTok challenge that children performed at school.
"The children were playing inappropriate games, during which the girl fell and broke her arms. The children saw the challenge and did it, without thinking about the consequences," Popržen pointed out.
He added that such challenges are done in all schools.
"That challenge came from the region. Who knows how long they have been playing it, but no one was injured, so we didn't even know," said Popržen.
According to him, it is important that parents of elementary school students closely monitor the content their children watch on social networks.
