During the tribute to the victims in Novi Sad in front of the Faculty of Agriculture in Zemun, an incident occurred when the driver of a Kia passenger car mowed down several citizens.
As can be seen in the video assigned to the editorial staff of N1, a passenger car came from the direction of Nemanja Street to the intersection with Avijatičarski trg, where there was a fifteen-minute blockade during which citizens paid their respects to the victims of the fall of the canopy at the Railway Station in Novi Sad.
After the citizens refused to take shelter, the driver of the car stepped on the gas and several participants of the blockade "PonIo" on the hood of his car. The citizens protested loudly and hit the car that drove away on Miroslava Tirša Street.
One young man who was a participant in the incident explained on social networks that the driver of a "kia" started at him, his father and students who were standing and blocking the street, after which, as he states, they tried to stop him calmly.
"We didn't succeed, he drove off the second time and hit people with his car, after which everyone tried to stop the car again, but that didn't work either, and the third time when the man hit my father, the students and me with the car, I climbed on hood and smashed the driver's seat in question to protect his dad," he said.
The young man also claims that the driver of his father's car was driving two streets with the hood on, which, as he assessed, was an attempted murder. He apologized to the students if he overreacted, but also emphasized that it was his duty to defend his "people, students and family."
Fifteen-minute blockades were held today in front of the building of the Technical Faculty in Kralja Aleksandra Boulevard in Belgrade, as well as in front of the Rectorate in Novi Sad, where the youth groups Sviće and Stav organized a rally in support of the student blockades "I think, therefore I block".
