The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, accused the President of the Board of Managers of Vijesti that he is known "for his naked anti-Serbian ideology".
He said this as a guest on RTS, where he commented on Ivanović's column published on the Nova portal, in which he called on him to retire from politics and thereby "save Serbia and the region".
"Read the text of Željko Ivanović, known for his stripped-down anti-Serbian ideology. What does the text say, 'Vučić, listen to those protesting, withdraw'. Is it all like I said. I don't think I need to add anything more than that." Vucic said.
The Party of Freedom and Justice from Serbia reacted to the statement of the President of Serbia.
"When Vučić says of Željko Ivanović, a journalist from Podgorica Vijesti, that he is known for his anti-Serbian ideology, it is not only an attack on the freedom of the media, but also a threat to his security. The President of Serbia uttered this condemnation only because Ivanović wrote an article in which he called Vučić to withdraw and save Serbia and the region," the statement of the Party of Freedom and Justice states.
