The students in the blockade in Serbia distanced themselves from the extremist organizations and nationalist symbols that appeared the day before during the protest in front of the Constitutional Court in Belgrade.
"The presence of their flags and banners in the front lines of the protests is not in line with our values and goals," the statement said.
Some of the protest participants also carried flags with the symbols of the Bosnian entity Republika Srpska, as well as banners with the inscription "No surrender" and a drawn map of Kosovo, whose independence the Serbian government does not recognize.
In the statement, the students emphasize that the blockades do not have an ideological agenda.
"We do not support any forms of separatism or polarization in society. Our only goal is the fulfillment of the specific demands for which we entered the blockades," the students announced.
They called on all participants and supporters to focus on common goals and refrain from highlighting symbols that could lead to division.
At the call of students blocking the faculties, several tens of thousands of demonstrators protested on January 12 in front of the Constitutional Court in Belgrade.
Over the past month and a half in Serbia, more than 60 faculties at four state universities have been blocked.
The blockades of the faculty were preceded by protests, which began with the demand to establish political and criminal responsibility for the accident in Novi Sad - where 1 people were killed and two seriously injured in the fall of the canopy at the Railway Station on November 15.
Several mass protests, where tens of thousands of citizens gathered, were also held at the invitation of the students who are blocking the faculties, and who are putting several demands before the authorities.
Among them is the publication of complete documentation on the reconstruction of the Railway Station in Novi Sad and the fall of the canopy, in order to determine responsibility for the accident.
Also, they demand that the attackers of the demonstrators, at the protests that followed the accident all over Serbia, be identified and prosecuted.
The demand is also the release of arrested activists at the protests and the stopping of criminal proceedings against them.
An increase in the budget for universities is also being sought.
Government representatives claim that all requirements have been met and invite students to open faculties.
Academics, on the other hand, say that the demands have been partially met and that the suspension of work at the faculties continues until further notice.
