Richard Grenell, a close aide to the US President, today criticized the Kosovo authorities for their attitude towards former US President Joseph Biden, asking them why they did not complain about his administration earlier rather than now.
Regarding the statement by the Speaker of the Kosovo Parliament, Gljauk Konjufca, that the Biden and Barack Obama administrations "put Kosovo at a disadvantage in relation to Serbia", Grenell pointed out that the authorities in Pristina "have been complimenting" the previous US president for four years.
"They've spent the last four years complimenting Joe Biden and coming to his conventions and parties. Why haven't they ever complained before?" asked Grenell, who was appointed by US President Donald Trump as his special envoy for North Korea, Venezuela and other hot spots, on the platform.
Grenell, who during Trump's first term in the White House was his envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, acting director of US national intelligence and ambassador to Germany, shared the news with a statement from Konjufca, vice president of the ruling Self-Determination Movement of Albin Kurti.
Grenell, who was awarded the Order of the Serbian Flag, First Class, by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, continued to come to Belgrade after Trump left the White House in 2021.
In July 2021, he posted a photo of himself partying with Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali, and a year later he said he had come to Serbia with a group of people from the private sector to learn about investment opportunities in the region. At the time, he denied receiving money from the Serbian authorities.
