The President of the Provincial Government, Maja Gojković, condemned the students' "invasion" of Matica Srpska last night and called them "anarchists".
She said that it was "an incursion by a group of anarchists led by the leaders of the anti-Serbian coalition, who have been attacking Vojvodina and Matica Srpska these days."
"The attack on the oldest institution of Serbs, during the St. Sava Academy, is a clear political message of disrespect for Matica Srpska, the Serbian people and tradition. This is an insult to the Serbian people, this is the bottom of the actions carried out by separatists, who are attacking Serbia, and which the state will resolutely oppose," she stated.
She assessed that "the aim of their attack is to clearly demonstrate open anti-state activity and contempt for Serbia and the Serbian people."
