The President of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik stated today in Banja Luka that RS stands behind a legitimate, democratic, strong and united Serbia, led by Aleksandar Vučić.
"The strength of Republika Srpska is represented by its institutions, but also by Serbia. That is why we want its strength, to have our own refuge, our own homeland. I am against anyone who is in favor of destabilizing Serbia and the Serbian people," Dodik told reporters in the Banja Luka village of Drakulić.
He assessed that the collapse of the canopy at the Novi Sad Railway Station is being "abused to make Serbia restless and destabilized" and "just now when we need stability and strength."
"Right now, when we need a strong president and a strong Serbian government to be able to properly position the interests of Serbs in the chaos of global dimensions, we are destabilizing and rendering the president and government of Serbia powerless," Dodik said.
According to him, it is important that the Serbian people know what they want, today when the world is in turmoil, disorder and in search of new forms.
"We must not give up on Kosovo and Metohija, we must not allow this false satellite state to be recognized, we must no longer accept that they pose this as a problem, and that they push RS into the so-called unitary or civil BiH," Dodik stressed.
He added that the RS government will do everything to ensure that this BiH entity remains stable and peaceful, emphasizing that RS "is looking to Serbia, to always be there in the capacity it can to help Serbia, but also expecting Serbia to integrate us as much as possible as a common body."
He announced that RS and Serbia will soon celebrate Sretenje together, which is written down in the Declaration of the All-Serbian Parliament as a joint holiday of the statehood of Serbia and RS.
Dodik further said that US President Donald Trump's decision to suspend aid to non-governmental organizations "is a signal for RS to pass its own law on these organizations, which have been using foreign funds to smear Serbs and RS for years."
He added that non-governmental organizations will no longer be able to do this, because a law will be passed that is more rigorous than the one that was previously submitted to the parliamentary procedure.
"This will be done even at the cost of the European path. We are not interested in the EU's opinion on this. If it is an interruption of the European path, okay. You will not tell us what we should do here," Dodik said.
He also said that if High Representative Christian Schmidt decides to change the BiH Constitution in the part that talks about the number of Serb delegates who constitute a quorum in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, he will "receive a response from the RS that many in the world will understand" on the same day.
"I see that some in the RS want to change the Constitution in the part that says that the quorum is not three delegates to the House of Peoples, but two, and that Schmidt should do it. If he does it, he will receive our response on the same day that many in the world will understand," Dodik stressed.
He again called the opposition in RS "national traitors", stating that "if they are the saviors of BiH, then they are the gravediggers of RS".
