The President of Republika Srpska (RS), Milorad Dodik, stated that he will submit the new Constitution of Republika Srpska for public debate today, which will clearly specify the authentic constitutional solutions of RS.
"This Constitution will not contradict the Constitution of BiH, because RS stands for the original Dayton Peace Agreement. The public debate should last 15-20 days," Dodik said on the "Special" show of Radio Television RS (RTRS).
He stated that in the new Constitution, the capital of RS will be Banja Luka, instead of Sarajevo, as provided for in the current entity constitution.
Commenting on accusations from Sarajevo that last night's adoption of laws in the RS parliament, which challenge the activities of state judicial institutions and the BiH Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) on the territory of RS, constituted a coup d'état, Dodik said that from Sarajevo "I can only salute."
"Republika Srpska has its own position and its own path. If there is a coup d'état, and there isn't, you can't strike something if it doesn't exist," he said.
He added that he "lives for the day when SIPA will be expelled from RS," calling last night's arrest of two men in Banja Luka, who threatened Judge Sena Uzunović, who was leading the court proceedings against him, "harassment."
"Because of the video post, our guys are being harassed in Sarajevo. You won't do that anymore. I will ask for the names of those who have no patriotic feelings. Why are you humiliating people?" said Dodik.
