NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is expected to visit Kosovo on March 11th, for the first time since taking office, Radio Free Europe has learned from diplomatic sources.
The day before, on March 10th, the NATO chief will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
It is expected that Rutte will be accompanied by ambassadors from NATO member countries during his visit to Kosovo.
Meanwhile, NATO has not yet officially announced this visit; Mark Rutte himself announced a visit to Kosovo in March.
The NATO Secretary General said in Bratislava a few days ago that stability in Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia is in everyone's interest and that he sees no reason to believe that there could be dramatic changes in terms of America's commitment to NATO, RFE/RL reports.
The NATO delegation, led by the Secretary General, will also visit the NATO-led KFOR mission. There are currently around 4.700 troops in this mission. Of these, Italy has the largest contingent with 1.250 members, as it also has a command, while the United States has around 600 members in this mission.
