Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Denis Bećirović, will submit a request to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to review the constitutionality of laws adopted by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (RS), which, as stated, attempt to deny the subordination of the entities to the sovereignty of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Together with Bećirović, the request will be submitted to the Constitutional Court of BiH by deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Denis Zvizdić (NiP) and Kemal Ademović (SDP), the Office of the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency announced today.
The statement emphasized that "the unlawful actions of the RS authorities require decisive and unified action by all state officials in BiH."
"Brutal attacks on the Dayton Peace Agreement and the constitutional order of BiH must be stopped. Attempts to undermine the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH represent a direct threat to peace and stability in the country and the region," the statement said.
The RS National Assembly recently adopted a law banning the operation of the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH, as well as the BiH Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), on the territory of that BiH entity.
A law was also adopted, establishing the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of the RS, which would end the jurisdiction of the HJPC BiH in the RS. Filing an appeal for the review of the constitutionality of these laws to the Constitutional Court of BiH is possible only after they enter into force, by publication in the Official Gazette of the RS.
