Serbian Culture Minister Nikola Selaković was physically attacked last night on a street in Belgrade, reports Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).
Some media claim that there were more attackers.
Selaković told RTS today that he is feeling well.
"An unknown person attacked me from behind, I was walking from my apartment to visit my parents, around 25:XNUMX at ten in the evening," Selaković said.
He adds that the person cursed and that the perpetrator said that he would "impale us, referring to us from the SNS (Serbian Progressive Party), as he put it."
Selaković said that the person approached from behind.
"When I turned to talk to him, he hit me and ran away. He hit me in the head, on the left side of my nose," Selaković said, adding that he was cut in the left temple area and that his glasses burned off on impact.
He says he took the injury list after seeing a doctor and reported the case to the police.
"Great nervousness among blockers"
He pointed out that there is great nervousness among, as he says, the group of blockaders.
"The nervousness is generated by many things. They haven't done their dirty work. They are nervous because the fight against corruption is going the way it should, and that it is ruthless and doesn't care about party affiliation, or differences in friendships and affiliations... And you can see that nervousness through their hateful media. You can see it through the fact that they have started attacking women, attacking female MPs, elderly women, pregnant women," Selaković said.
He added that an atmosphere has arisen in which, as he says, there are media outlets that deal with hatred, citing the example of a media outlet reporting last night that he got into a fight over a parking space in Vračar, and he, as he stated, does not even have a driver's license.
The attack on Selaković was condemned by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, outgoing Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, and Minister of Justice Maja Popović.
