The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has issued an order to the judicial police to detain Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Radovan Višković and Speaker of the Republika Srpska National Assembly Nenad Stevandić, it was confirmed to Radio Television Republika Srpska (RTRS) by the Government of Republika Srpska (RS).
RTRS reports that the order was issued by Prosecutor Ćazim Hasanspahić and that they are charged with committing the criminal offense of "attack on the constitutional order".
The prosecutor's office issued an arrest warrant to the judicial police, and requested assistance from the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) and the state Investigation and Protection Agency SIPA, RTRS reports.
The Director of the RS Court Police, Željko Dragojević, told the television station that the RS Court Police has not, nor can it, be issued an arrest warrant, because that is within the jurisdiction of SIPA and the Court Police of the Court of BiH.
The Investigation and Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIPA) has received an order from the Court Police of the Court of BiH to assist in the arrest of Dodik, Višković and Stevandić, this police agency confirmed, Beta reports.
If Dodik, Višković and Stevandić are not detained, an internal arrest warrant will be issued for them, under which any police agency within BiH can arrest them, including the BiH Border Police.
In case they are not apprehended under the domestic warrant, an Interpol, or international, warrant is issued.
The BiH Prosecutor's Office has opened a case against Dodik, Višković and Stevandić, charging them with violating the "constitutional order" after laws adopted by the RS National Assembly on February 27 were published in the RS Official Gazette, which prohibit the operation of the Prosecutor's Office and the Court of BiH, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC), and SIPA on the territory of RS.
These laws were temporarily suspended by a decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH.
