KTV journalist from Serbia and politician Nemanja Šarović was released after giving a statement at the police station on 29 November Street in Belgrade.
As he told N1, the reason for his arrest was a TV report he was filming in Pionirski Park in Belgrade, during which, according to the complaint, he insulted and harassed police officers.
Šarović says that in his statement he stated that he just wanted to find out from the police whether they would react because there were a large number of unregistered tractors parked in Pionirski Park and that none of those who had uniforms with police insignia wanted to react to this.
"I saw people who introduced themselves as Red Berets, only to find out that they weren't, so I wanted to check whether the people wearing police uniforms were real police officers because they weren't working in accordance with the law," Šarović told N1.
On the KTV Facebook page, it was announced that Šarović was arrested by the police around 15 p.m. He, they said, had come to support the release of Srđan Žunić, the founder of the "United People of Serbia" movement.
A video of his arrest was posted on social media.
Šarović was also detained on March 8 in Pionirski Park while reporting from a camp where people posing as "students who want to study" were staying.
His arrest was also broadcast live on KTV. At one point, one of the participants in the rally poured coffee on him, and then a woman hit him on the arms, knocking the microphone out of his hand.
As the video showed, the police officer asked him to leave Pioneer Park "due to the risk of a major disturbance of peace and order." The officers then dragged the journalist away and put him in a police car, as he refused to leave the location.
