Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated today that there are three or four names of candidates for the prime minister-designate to form the new Serbian Government, and that he will discuss it only with those parties that are interested, so as not to "create a circus".
"Upon my return from Brussels next week, I will talk to people from political parties. So that we don't create a circus, only with those who want to talk and want to. Those who want to and have a majority should say who they want as prime minister-designate. I assume they will ask me for advice, I hear that they have three or four names they are considering, I will give my opinion, whether they will accept them or not, that is another matter," said Vučić, in the village of Borovac, during a tour of the Toplica and Jablanica districts.

Speaking about last night's events in Niš, he said that "we must remain calm, we must not retaliate in the same way."
"Except what I know now, wherever they throw eggs at anyone, everyone will throw eggs back at them. We must not act vindictively and I ask people to wait for the reaction of the state and state authorities. Last night, the police reacted very badly," Vučić said.
He stated that opponents of the government are offering "a stripped-down dictatorship where no one would have the right to think differently, they would introduce a Khmer Rouge camp regime."
After the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) rally at the Officers' House in Niš was disbanded last night, because the party leaders canceled their attendance for security reasons, a citizens' rally at a nearby location was also prevented because a strong police force had cordoned off the area.
After that, the gathered citizens threw eggs and stones at the SNS representatives and chased them around the city, and a video showing Niš Mayor Dragoslav Pavlović being thrown at and doused with water was posted on social media by student Matija Nikolić, who was soon taken to the police station in Niš.
