In the area of Prijedor, a city in the northwest of Republika Srpska (RS), according to the latest information, 600 buildings have been flooded, and the situation is becoming increasingly alarming.
Acting Director of the Civil Protection of the Republika Srpska, Boris Trninić, said that no one's life was in danger, Klix.ba reports.
"Teams from the Republic Civil Protection Administration with several boats and crew members are on the ground and are assisting territorial fire and rescue units in two local communities in transferring citizens from their homes to areas that are not flooded," said Trninić.
The most critical situation is in the settlements of Tukovi and Gomjenica.
After a meeting of the emergency headquarters, the Mayor of Prijedor, Slobodan Javor, told Radio Television of Republika Srpska that last night in this city was very difficult and that the biggest problems were caused by the Gomjenica River, whose level is 6,2 meters.
During the night, 12 locals were also evacuated.
Currently, the most critical situation is in the Blagaj and Svodna stations, considering that the Sana River is still rising.
When it comes to the Una River, it does not pose a threat to the railway infrastructure for the time being.
