The Vice President of the Freedom and Justice Party of Serbia, Dušan Nikezić, stated that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Finance Minister Siniša Mali should explain whether they "gave away the most valuable land in Belgrade to some fraudster" or whether Mohamed Alabar is "just a front, and the real owners of Belgrade Waterfront are people in power."
Nikezić, N1 reports, recalled in a written statement that more than 10 years after Vučić announced that Alabar would invest $3,5 billion in Belgrade on the Water, the magazine Forbes placed Alabbar on its billionaires list for the first time, with a total wealth of $2,3 billion.
It also turned out that most of Alabar's wealth is in shares of fast food restaurant chains, and not in construction or real estate, the SSP vice president pointed out.
"This may explain why the Arab partner has only paid 80 million euros so far, but it still does not explain why it received 68 percent of ownership for such a small investment, while the Serbian side donated 200 hectares of land in the heart of Belgrade to the joint venture, worth two billion euros, and received only 32 percent of ownership," Nikezić said.
That's why Vučić and Mali, as he added, now have to explain "whether they gave the most valuable land in Belgrade to some fraudster, or was the whole deal a farce from the beginning, Alabar is just a front, and the real owners of Belgrade on the Water are people from the top of the government?"
"Either they turned out to be fools and the biggest pests in the history of Serbia, or they are the biggest robbers of state property? They were right about only one thing - they will definitely make it into the textbooks," said Nikezić.
The company of Arab investor Mohamed Alabar, "Eagle Hills Montenegro", has applied for the lease of Ulcinj beaches, and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić said that this investor is ready to invest 30 billion euros in Montenegro.
