Members of the Republika Srpska (RS) police who, at gunpoint, prevented members of the Investigation and Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIPA) from arresting RS President Milorad Dodik in East Sarajevo this evening will be suspected of "armed rebellion", Sarajevo media reported.
According to unofficial information from SIPA, it will not attempt to arrest Dodik again tonight, but it has identified several people from Dodik's security and the RS police, who threatened the inspectors with force if they tried to enter the RS Administrative Center in East Sarajevo, where Dodik is located.
The same sources stated that all those who prevented SIPA from arresting Dodik by threatening him with weapons will be suspected of the criminal offense of "armed rebellion".
Radio Television of the Republic of Srpska (RTRS) announced that three SIPA inspectors attempted to enter the Administrative Center of the Republic of Srpska in East Sarajevo this evening to serve an arrest warrant on the President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, but were prevented from doing so by the RS police.
SIPA confirmed that their inspectors attempted to enter the RS Administrative Center in East Sarajevo and that the police agency did not deploy its special unit.
Sarajevski Avaz reported that an EUFOR vehicle appeared in front of the RS Administrative Center, but quickly left the location.
Dodik arrived in East Sarajevo by helicopter tonight, where he met with the mayor and heads of the city's municipalities.
Dodik is suspected of attacking the constitutional order of BiH and the Court of BiH issued a central arrest warrant for him because he did not respond to the State Prosecutor's Office's summons to be questioned.
All police agencies in BiH were ordered to bring Dodik to the Court of BiH, which ordered his detention.
In addition to Dodik, a central arrest warrant has also been issued for RS Prime Minister Radovan Višković and RS Parliament Speaker Nenad Stevandić.
