Five national unions and students on strike in Serbia have called for the celebration of May 1, Labor Day, on a plateau in front of the Serbian Government in Belgrade.
"On May 1st, we mark six months since the fall of the canopy in Novi Sad. From this moment on, our struggle enters the next phase. We are no longer just standing in blockades. This is a step towards radicalization that will enable new forms of pressure," the Instagram post reads.
They also say that the Law on Strikes and the Labor Law are the foundations of a system of exploitation.
"They protect the government, not the worker. These laws must change - a mass work stoppage. We are fighting for the right to live without fear. For the workers, for the students, for all of us. See you on May 1st at 14 pm," the students said.
