Brajan Brković, an activist of the Civic Movement Bravo, who was arrested yesterday afternoon near the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in Novi Sad, and who was then ordered to be detained for up to 24 hours, has been released, Beta was confirmed.
As Brković's lawyer Aleksandar Šorak told us, the detention order has expired, and Brković is obliged to appear before a misdemeanor judge on May 28th.
"He is being charged with a misdemeanor under Article 22 of the Law on Public Peace and Order. Tomorrow they will probably take him immediately to the misdemeanor judge, here in Novi Sad," said Šorak.
Brković was arrested yesterday after he refused to go to the police and give a statement as a citizen.
As his lawyer told us, the police then crossed out "citizen" on the summons with a ballpoint pen and added "defendant", and after he refused to go with them, they forcibly put him in a police van and took him to the Stari Grad Police Station.
After that, he was taken to Vrbas, where he was held in police custody.
