The Freedom and Justice Party (SSP) announced that the party's vice president, Marinika Tepić, was attacked in Pančevo, Serbia, today.
The party announced that the attack occurred while she was with her mother in front of the building in Pančevo where her mother lives.
"The attacker Boško Ožegović, known for his long-standing insults and politically motivated provocations, first threatened Marinika Tepić with a scream that he would rape her, that she should not be there, and uttered a series of the most vulgar curses. Then, when she got into the car, he prevented her from closing the door, grabbed her by the arm, pulled her hard and got into her face. He then insulted her mother, who was outside the vehicle. Only thanks to the composure of Marinika Tepić and several citizens who came to her aid and called the police, the attack did not have any serious consequences. The attacker threatened everyone present that he would take out a gun and show it to everyone," the SSP announced.
They add that this attack is a direct consequence of the brutal targeting of Tepić, opposition leaders and students by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
"Every day, from regime television and tabloids, as well as via social networks, the President of Serbia incites hatred, falsely accuses, threatens and draws targets. This is also the responsibility of all institutions that do not react to the violence inspired and supported directly by Aleksandar Vučić. We demand that the attacker be detained and prosecuted in accordance with the gravity of the act he committed. Marinika Tepić will not retreat, nor can anyone stop her in the fight for a democratic, free and just Serbia. Members of the Party of Freedom and Justice, as well as members of other opposition parties who are targets of regime attacks, will not be stopped by threats, violence, or all of Vučić's loyalists, whom he shamelessly pays with the money of all Serbian citizens," the SSP adds.
