Serbian Prime Minister Đuro Macut condemned on Sunday evening the vandalism of a man who desecrated the place of honoring those killed at the November 1 train station in Novi Sad yesterday by publicly urinating on flowers, candles, messages and toys.
"On the days when we remember the young lives lost in the 'Vladislav Ribnikar' Elementary School in Belgrade, as well as in the villages of Dubona and Malo Orašje, in Novi Sad, at the place of remembrance of our tragically killed citizens, desecration and disrespect for the memory of the dead are being publicly demonstrated, which is not in the spirit of the Serbian people," the Prime Minister said in a statement.
He added that he "condemns this inhuman act" and "demands that the perpetrator be found in the coming hours so that he can be held accountable for his actions."
