The President of the Republika Srpska (RS), Milorad Dodik, the Prime Minister of the Bosnian entity of RS, Radovan Višković, and the President of the RS Assembly, Nenad Stevandić, came to the Banja Luka "Kozara" barracks to mark the Day of the RS Army and the Day of the Third Infantry Regiment (RS) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite an order banning their entry.
They were escorted through the barracks by police, and were met by Aleksandar Goganović, Deputy Minister of Defense of BiH.
At the end of last week, BiH Defense Minister Zukan Helez issued an order banning Dodik, Višković, and Stevandić from entering the barracks, as they are individuals on a central wanted list.
The BiH judiciary has been trying for weeks to arrest Dodik, who is suspected of attacking the constitutional order.
He, along with Stevandić and Višković, is charged with attacking the constitutional order, and a central arrest warrant has been issued for them in BiH after they failed to respond to a summons from the BiH Prosecutor's Office for questioning.
This means that there is an obligation on all police agencies in the country to bring them in for questioning and detention as part of the investigation into the attack on the constitutional order of BiH, following a series of unconstitutional decisions made in the institutions of the RS.
Helez stated in the order that appropriate measures will be taken against persons who "in any way enable the violation of point 1 of this Order, including: filing criminal charges, disciplinary proceedings, and dismissal from service."
The Third Infantry Regiment (Republika Srpska) is one of three infantry regiments that cherish the identity and military heritage of the units and the constituent peoples, Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs from which they originate - the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Croatian Defense Council and the Army of Republika Srpska.
The regiments have their own flags and insignia, and have no operational or administrative authority.
The 9rd RS Infantry Regiment has been in the spotlight in previous years when its members participated in marking January XNUMXth as the unconstitutional day of Republika Srpska.
