With the production of written documentation, the trial of Veljko Belivuk, Darko Šarić and their alleged associates for the murder of four members of the Skaljari crime clan in Athens and Corfu, Greece, in 2020 has continued in Serbia.

Since the Serbian prosecution received numerous documents from the Greek judicial authorities with the consent to use them as evidence in these criminal proceedings, translations of reports on the questioning of several witnesses before the prosecutor in Athens, as well as reports on the police searches of various apartments, were presented in the courtroom of the Special Court in Belgrade.

The acting prosecutor explained that the apartments, whose photos were shown at the hearing, were used in Athens under false identities by the murdered Stevan Stamatović and Igor Dedović, members of the Skaljari criminal clan, N1 reports.

Veljko Belivuk and Darko Šarić, as well as 2020 of their associates, are charged with their murders in Athens in January 17. In addition to those two murders, they are also on trial in this case for the murders of two other "Skaljarians", Alan Kožar and Damir Hadžić, in Corfu the same year.

The organizers were identified as Belivuk, Šarić and Radoje Zvicer, the leader of the Kavač clan, against whom proceedings are being conducted in Greece for these criminal acts and are not included in the indictment of the Serbian prosecutor's office.

One of the witnesses, who was questioned in Greece, said in his testimony that he rented the apartment to a man who had Italian documents, and was allegedly Italian by name, but that this person did not have an Italian accent.

Allegedly, the name Mastrogiovanni Dario Guglielmo was used by the accused Slobodan Vujačić, and the prosecution claims that the apartment in Athens he rented was one of several apartments used to commit the murders of Stamatović and Dedović, N1 reports.

Also, a passport in the name of Mastrogiovanni Dario Guillermo was shown in the courtroom.

"This is legal evidence that can be used. The defendant Vujačić was in Athens at the time. The photo in that passport and the data from the passport are identical to the document from the 'Sky' company. The witness gave a description of the person who rented the apartment. As he said, although the man had an Italian passport, the accent did not indicate that the person was Italian," explained prosecutor Saša Ivanić.

One of the defense attorneys, Dejan Lazarević, disputed the connection between the aforementioned Italian and the defendant Vujačić. He said that Vujačić did not sign a contract for renting an apartment, but a contract for renting a car. He added that the passport was authentic and that it was not Vujačić in the photograph.

Slobodan Vujačić's defense attorney said that "the contracts are not complete," and that they are partially in the case files and partially translated. He added that the person in the photo from the Italian passport is not his client, but rather a singer, and that he has "no comment" on the photo being linked to Slobodan Vujačić.

The accused Vujačić was called to the courtroom to give his statement on this matter.

"I would like to read this witness statement. He says that we spoke at the end of February 2020, I was not even in Greece at the time. I was there in December 2019. He describes me as a man from the Balkans, and that is a broad term. He says that from the description of my wardrobe I did not look like an Italian, and I have never seen that man. And I almost do not look like this singer, that is a separate story," said Vujačić.

The first defendant, Veljko Belivuk, also asked to speak and in the courtroom he agreed with everything the defense attorneys said.

"The prosecutor again said that this is legal evidence, and we have a situation where a member of the SBPOK who is not a witness was comparing the photographs with the naked eye. Then we should dismiss all the experts and accept that the singer Srećko Krečar is on the passport and we can conclude that it is not Slobodan Vujačić. Another statement that proves that it is not him is the description of the witness who said that Mastrođovani is 185 cm tall, with blond hair and eyes. That only goes in our favor and it is concluded that it is not Slobodan Vujačić. He is not blond, he does not have blue eyes, the SBPOK confirmed that it is Srećko Krečar and now we just have to see if they will arrest him," Belivuk said from the courtroom.

Other documents shown showed that Belivuk left Greece the day after the double murder in Athens in January 2020, N1 reports.

So far, among the numerous documents obtained by the Serbian prosecution from various international bodies, the Agreement on the Formation of a Joint Investigation Order between Serbia and Greece in connection with the murders of Stamatović, Dedović, Kožar and Hadžić, as well as various Greek police documents from 2023 - such as the European Investigation Order - have been presented as evidence.

Then there are documents from the French police from 2023 regarding Serbian letters of request, the responses to which authorize Serbian authorities to use and exchange data within the framework of a European investigation order in connection with the murders of the four aforementioned "Skaljarci".

Of the total of 19 defendants, seven are at large and are being tried in absentia, while all the others are in custody, with the only defendant among them being under house arrest with the obligation to wear electronic monitoring.

The indictment in this case, in addition to Veljko Belivuk and Darko Šarić, also includes: Milovan Zdravković, Ratko Živković, Stefan Andrejić, Dragan Tomić, Marko Petković, Vladimir Mandić, Slobodan Vujačić, Nataša Dedić, Blagoje Gašić, Nebojša Janković, Vladimir Vojnović, Dušan Jovanović, Rade Stojićević, Filip Knežević, Milinko Brašnjović, Marko Stanković and Miloš Jevrić.

Miloš Jevrić, Milovan Zdravković, Ratko Živković, Stefan Andrejić, Blagoje Gašić, Filip Knežević and Marko Stanković are on the run.
