"Today we are witnessing the impotence of the regime of Aleksandar Vučić, who promised to quell the citizens' rebellion in March, and 150 people yesterday, on St. Vid's Day in Belgrade, denied it. Now it is clear to him that when we talk about the end, we can only talk about the end of the treacherous and harmful regime of the Serbian Progressive Party," said the vice president of the Serbian People's Movement, Aleksandar Ivanović, to the crowd.
"In response to the endless columns of rebellious citizens on the streets of Belgrade, Vučić issued an order to arrest students - smart kids and the future of this country - whom he cannot possibly force to live in his Ćaciland," added Ivanović.
"This protest by citizens in front of the VJT only confirms that people are determined to go to the end in the fight against the mafia regime and that they will not agree to live in the conditions of fear and terror that Vučić is trying to impose," said Ivanovic.
"We demand the release of all unjustly arrested students. The issue of solidarity is more important today than ever before, we must all stand shoulder to shoulder in this fight for the liberation of Serbia," concluded the vice president of the NPS.
Novi Sad students also announced a blockade of the entire city of Novi Sad.
After a brutal police intervention on Saturday evening, more than 80 students were arrested, of whom about 30 were detained, according to unofficial student information.
They are allegedly suspected of acting against the constitutional order and calling for a violent change to the constitutional order.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security and Information Agency, acting on the orders of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office (VJT) in Belgrade, announced that they had arrested six people on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of "Preparing an act against the constitutional order and security of Serbia" in connection with the criminal offense of "Calling for a violent change in the constitutional order".
The VJT announced that the individuals in question are: LS from Zaječar, IM from Smederevo, LS from Kragujevac, BB from Belgrade, NP from Sombor and DD from Niš, who are suspected of having, on June 20, 2025, at the premises of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and on June 21, 2025, at the premises of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade, among other things, arranged and prepared "an attack on state institutions, road blockades and crucial infrastructure throughout the territory of the country, in order to violently change the state order."
