Serbia: Blockades and protests by citizens in Valjevo, Užice, Pancevo, Kruševac, Šabac, Niš, Kragujevac, Čačak...

In several cities in Serbia - Valjevo, Užice, Pancevo, Kruševac, Šabac, Niš, Kragujevac, Čačak... road blockades and protest marches were organized tonight.

Following calls from social media, a group of citizens gathered at 18 pm tonight at the City Square in Valjevo, from where they set off on a protest walk and blockade of certain intersections, Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) reported.

Protesters in Valjevo moved along a single lane of traffic and occasionally blocked traffic at certain intersections, with plainclothes police officers present.

The call for the blockade, as in previous days, was sent by the Kruševac citizens' assembly via social media, and the action was supported by Kruševac students on the blockade.

After gathering in front of the City Hall, the citizens of Užice took a protest walk along Dimitrija Tucovića Street to the offices of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).

Those gathered are shouting "We want elections," and some have even brought garbage bags with them to symbolically express their stance on the current political situation, according to the RTS website.

Citizens of Pancevo and students blocked the intersection in the city center near the courthouse this evening and then headed towards the police building.

At the head of the column, citizens carried the message "Police, it's time to choose."

In Šabac, citizens paid tribute to those killed in the collapse of a canopy in Novi Sad, after which some of the crowd went on a protest walk while others remained at the intersection near the library and museum.

At the suggestion of the students in the blockade, most of the people of Šabac wore white T-shirts.

The students in the blockade called on the citizens of Belgrade tonight for a total blockade on Friday, July 4th, from seven in the morning.

In a post on the social network "X" they called for "a total blockade of Belgrade at seven o'clock, in response to police brutality."

"Everyone on the streets. Belgrade comes to a standstill tomorrow," they stated in the announcement, adding that it was "a public call to citizens, bikers, veterans, taxi drivers, farmers."
