A citizen protest in front of the premises of the City Board (GO) of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in Čačak, which followed the blockades of intersections, after 22 p.m., escalated into a major clash with the police.
In the conflict, the police used pepper spray and beat the gathered citizens with batons, Beta reports.
The continuation of the conflict between citizens and the police, which began after 22.00:XNUMX PM, followed after citizens pelted the SNS premises with eggs.
The protest began after the blockade of two intersections in the city ended, when citizens left waste they had collected from the intersection blockades in front of the SNS offices.
The president of the SNS local government in Čačak, Miloš Stevanić, left the party premises and began kicking the trash that had been left behind, which caused a violent reaction from the gathered citizens.
A verbal conflict broke out between citizens and SNS officials who came out together with Stevanić, and a larger incident and physical conflict were prevented by the police who stood between them.
