Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić stated today that genocide against Bosniaks "absolutely" did not occur in Srebrenica in 1995, which, she added, does not mean that it was not a terrible war crime.
Brnabić told Informer television that the July 1995 crime in Srebrenica "should never have happened."
"It is absolutely not genocide, which does not mean it is not a terrible war crime. Genocide is what happened to the Serbs in the NDH (Independent State of Croatia) during World War II," said the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić expressed his condolences today to the families of Bosniak victims on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the "terrible crime in Srebrenica".
"Today marks thirty years since the terrible crime in Srebrenica. We cannot change the past, but we must change the future," Vučić said in a post on the social network "Iks" (X).
He said he was "confident that a similar crime will never happen again."
