Western Slovenia, along the border with Italy, was hit this afternoon by a strong storm moving eastward.
The storm hit the Bovec and Kobarid areas, and then moved towards Kranj and Kamnik.
In Ljubljana, strong winds with brief showers broke branches and caused damage to some office buildings.
In the area of the capital of Slovenia, more than 6.000 electricity distribution users were left without electricity, mostly in the areas of Horjul, Polhov Gradec, Domžale, Litija and Grosuplje.
The wind uprooted trees in other places as well, Srna reported.
The Croatian State Hydrometeorological Institute has warned that a severe thunderstorm is approaching from the direction of Slovenia towards the central and northern parts of the country.
The most dangerous period was expected on Monday evening, and according to radar images, it appears to have passed, Croatian Radio and Television reported.
