Minister of Public Investments and President of the Executive Board of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Darko Glišić, suddenly fell ill this morning while appearing on the TV Pink morning program.
Glišić was unable to finish the guest appearance, so the program was interrupted, reports N1.
The media reported that he received medical attention and was taken to the hospital.
Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar stated that Glišić is in extremely serious condition.
"He fell ill on a television show, and was then taken to the Emergency Center in an extremely serious condition, unconscious," Lončar said in an interview with Informer, the report says.
He explained that diagnostics are underway and that "everything known to medicine" will be applied.
"This is something that has seriously shaken us all, but we are moving forward and hoping for the success of the therapy and treatment measures that will be taken and are being taken," Lončar said.
He emphasized that Glišić was brought to the Emergency Center on time, 20 minutes after he became ill.
"Diagnostics have started and there is time for the intervention, which will start right away. The time factor is extremely important, and here we have that time and it started on time," explained Lončar.
The Minister of Health also said that Glišić is accompanied by his closest friends, as well as Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
