Glavina: Croatia records record number of tourist arrivals

Croatia has recorded 15,5 million tourist arrivals and 79,2 million overnight stays so far this year, an increase of one percent compared to the same period in 2024, announced Tourism Minister Tonči Glavina, describing 2025 as a "record year", state television HRT reported.

"Until August 20th of this year, we had record tourist arrivals and overnight stays, and at the same time record spending and growth in tourist activities," Glavina told reporters after a government session.

Tourist spending in the period January-August increased by 10,4 percent compared to the same period last year, he said, citing fiscal accounts.

The Central Bank of Croatia estimated in June that revenues from foreign tourist arrivals in 2025 would increase by 3,6 percent and reach 15,5 billion euros.

Tourism makes up 20 percent of the Croatian economy, and tourism officials are working to ensure a year-round tourist season, not just during the summer months.
