The wiretapped conversations of three accused associates in the proceedings against the Veljko Belivuk clan were broadcast today in the courtroom of the Special Court in Belgrade in their presence.
Associates of the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime Srđan Lalić, Bojan Hrvatin and Nikola Spasojević, in addition to the status of associates, also have the status of defendants, since they are high-ranking members of the Belivuk clan, who are on trial for seven serious murders, kidnapping, torture, rape, drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.
Lalić, Hrvatin and Spasojević were present at the main hearings only when they testified and were cross-examined. This happened on two occasions, when the trial first began in 2022 and when it began again in 2024 due to a change in the president of the trial chamber, who retired, writes N1.
Before the trial began, the three of them reached agreements with the Prosecutor's Office and agreed to lower prison sentences for pleading guilty and testifying truthfully about all criminal activities that are being charged against members of the clan, whose leaders are Veljko Belivuk and Marko Miljković.
Lalić was sentenced to 18 years in prison, Hrvatin to 15, and Spasojević to 14 years.
The recordings of their conversations were recorded by the police, as the accused members of Belivuk's group were under secret surveillance and wiretapping measures at various times before their arrest in February 2021. Individuals were monitored for more than six months before their arrest.
In these audio recordings, Lalić discussed the purchase of a money counter, the purchase of real estate, the introduction of optical internet at the Partizan stadium, and the lease of internet domains for Sky.
Accused associate Srđan Lalić was the main distributor of the "Sky" application for protected communication within the Belivuk clan. Lalić explained in detail how he organized this business, when he started doing it, and to whom he sold "Sky" accounts during his testimony in the Special Court.
The accused associate confirmed that he conducted the wiretapped conversations. There were no questions for him, but the accused Belivuk expressed the view that Srđan Lalić admitted to committing the crimes of money laundering and drug trafficking, and called on the prosecution to initiate proceedings against him.
In intercepted conversations, the accused associate Nikola Spasojević talks about the work he and his brother did on Veljko Belivuk's house and the clan leader's accusations that he damaged it on that occasion, that is, that Spasojević and his brother were "embedding". He also mentioned in conversations with his brother that he would protect him if Belivuk harassed him because of accusations that he was "embedding", N1 reports.
In the case of Bojan Hrvatin, recordings of his movements were broadcast, which were linked to the commission of the criminal offenses for which he is charged.
He said in the courtroom that he could not comment on some of the recordings because they were of poor quality, but that he "thinks he recognizes himself and Goran Veličković," whose murder, among others, is blamed on the Belivuk clan.
