The Self-Determination Movement (PS) nominated its leader Albin Kurti for Prime Minister of Kosovo at today's Main Board meeting.
The first vice president of that movement, Gljauk Konjufca, said that this year they had seen "the most dangerous attempt to challenge" the election results.
"The issue of forming the Assembly is an act of expressing the will of the people as an election result. Being against the formation of institutions is the same as being against oneself. In the end, it can be said that the crisis lasted because the parties decided that the PS should not have a president, Aljbuljena Hadžija, while this crisis continues because they think that there is no republic without a Serb vice president," he said.
Konjufca assessed that political crises "do not come from the sky and do not hang in the air", and that the Constitutional Court also contributed to the crisis.
"His approach was more political than constitutional. The Constitutional Court is facing a major decision. The Court has no further interpretation of the Constitution. Either the path will be opened for the Assembly to continue its work, or we will go to new elections. The third scenario is the worst possible. A scenario at the level of state treason, a scenario that gives the Serbian List and Belgrade the right of veto over the Republic of Kosovo. The Republic of Kosovo cannot be held hostage by the Serbian List. We have the Assembly and we will have a government," said Konjufca.
On September 4, the Constitutional Court issued a decision obliging the Assembly and other institutions not to continue the process of electing the Kosovo Government until September 30, by which time the Constitutional Court must decide on the request of the Serbian List.
