Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said in Zrenjanin that the 2026 elections will be the most important elections in Serbia's modern future.
At the celebration of the 17th anniversary of the founding of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), of which he is now a member, Vučić did not specify when these elections would be called.
He said, criticizing the opposition, that in these elections, the choice will be between neutrality in economic development and a view of the country's future and a return to the past.
Vučić pointed out that today some in Strasbourg are saying that he is to blame for everything, accusing him of using a sonic cannon, Ćaciland, and granting permission for the Russian president's plane to overfly the area on its way to Budapest.
"Ćaciland is the only public point of resistance present every day to the thousands of places they have occupied and blocked. They don't mind the dozens and hundreds of blocked faculties and schools, the fact that children don't go to school, but they do mind one small park that is a seed of resistance to the occupation and destruction of Serbia," Vučić said.
The students in the blockade and the citizens who support them have been demanding the calling of early parliamentary elections for several months.
