Woman murdered in Mostar, former football player's son suspected: She fled to a cafe, attacker arrived and killed her

A woman was murdered in Mostar today at around 18 pm, and the man who committed the murder was arrested. The suspect is Anis Kalajdžić, the son of a former football player and legend of the Velež Avda football club, reports Vecernji.ba.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNK), Ilijana Miloš, told the Sarajevo portal Klix.ba that the police received a report about this case at 18 p.m.

"The police immediately went to the crime scene. A woman was killed, and the man who committed the murder was arrested," she said.

She added that the cantonal prosecutor on duty has been notified and that an investigation is being conducted on site.

The motives for this crime are not yet known, and as Večernji reports, the victim managed to escape from the attacker to a cafe and call the police, but the killer caught up with her and killed her. The attacker allegedly tried to kill himself, but failed because the gun jammed, and in the meantime, the police arrived at the crime scene and arrested him.
