A masked group of Albanians attacked members of the Serbian Army today at around 15 p.m. in the area of the "Debela Glava" base, which is located in the municipality of Bujanovac near the border between Kosovo and Serbia, RTS reports, citing unofficial information.
The Serbian public media service reports that an armed group of Albanians at the foot of Mount Šop fired 15 shots in the direction of members of the Serbian Army, hitting a dog that was in the immediate vicinity.
The attackers then fled in six jeeps towards Kosovo.
The "Debela Glava" base is located in the Ground Security Zone (GSZ) between Serbia and Kosovo, which was established by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Military-Technical Agreement from 1999, on an area of 1.471 square kilometers.
The width of the KZB is five kilometers, while the length of the administrative line with Kosovo is 382 kilometers. Serbian security forces entered the KZB in 2001, where, according to Radio Free Europe, the activities of the Serbian Army and KFOR include joint reconnaissance and patrols.
