Police officers from the Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) conducted the "Labos" operation in the area of the Brčko District, Donji Žabar, Pelagićevo and Orašje and arrested ten people suspected of committing criminal offenses of organized crime and illicit drug trafficking, SIPA announced today.
Yesterday, searches of apartments, auxiliary buildings and movable property were carried out in ten locations in these places, including one department of the Orašje Correctional Facility.
As SIPA announced to the media, ten people were arrested, including one person who is serving a prison sentence in the Orašje Correctional Facility.
"The arrested are suspected of having committed the criminal offenses of organized crime and illicit drug trafficking prescribed by the Criminal Code of BiH. After criminal processing and questioning as suspects, six people will be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, upon the order of the acting prosecutor," the statement said.
During the search, they added, approximately five kilograms of marijuana, three cars, 8.000 euros, 6.730 convertible marks (approximately 3.450 euros), a mixture for mixing drugs, weighing scales, mobile phones, diaries, records and other items that could serve as evidence that the aforementioned crimes were committed were discovered and temporarily seized.
The operation was carried out by order of the Court of BiH, under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, in cooperation with police officers of the BiH Border Police, the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Brčko District Police of BiH.
