Skopje police arrested a 54-year-old man today who broke the glass of the entrance door of the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia announced.
According to the statement, at 12.40 on "Ćirila Metodija" Street in Skopje, police officers from the "Centar" and "Bit Pazar" police stations arrested Š.A. (54) from Skopje, because he broke the glass of the entrance door of the Bulgarian Embassy in North Macedonia yesterday.
"Immediately upon receipt of the report, measures and activities were taken to find the perpetrator and clarify the case, and Š.A. was deprived of his liberty, and after documenting the case, an appropriate report will be filed," the police said.
The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry announced yesterday that an unknown person attacked the Bulgarian embassy in Skopje and asked the competent authorities in North Macedonia to identify and punish the perpetrator.
It strongly condemned the act, which was reportedly directed at the building of the Bulgarian mission abroad in Skopje - a symbol of statehood and Bulgaria's official presence in North Macedonia.
