Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani announced today that she has accepted the invitation of United States President Donald Trump for Kosovo to join his "Peace Committee".
"I am deeply honored by the President's personal invitation to represent the Republic of Kosovo as a founding member of the Peace Council, side by side with the United States of America in the effort to build a safer world," wrote Vjosa Osmani on the X network.
"America helped bring peace to Kosovo. Today, Kosovo stands firmly as an ally of America, ready to help preserve and further spread that peace," Osmani said.
The "Peace Committee" is expected to oversee the governance of the Gaza Strip, after the US brokered a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama had earlier accepted Trump's invitation and said the decision would soon be forwarded to the Albanian parliament for approval.
Of the countries in the region, Croatia and Slovenia were also invited to the "Peace Committee".
