Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani signed today in Davos the document of Kosovo's accession to US President Donald Trump's Peace Council.
At a ceremony held in Davos, Osmani said that "an alliance with America is the only way."
Vjosa Osmani posted a video of her arrival at the ceremony to join Trump's Peace Council on Facebook and wrote, "Good morning from Davos, where, at the invitation of President Trump, we came to the ceremony to establish the Peace Council."
Somewhat later, she announced that membership in international peacekeeping organizations led by a strategic ally of Kosovo such as America "strengthens Kosovo's sovereignty, international standing and is in the highest interest of the Republic of Kosovo."
She announced that the agreement on joining the Peace Committee will be sent to the Kosovo Assembly for ratification by the deputies.
The Peace Committee is a new international initiative proposed and formed by US President Donald Trump in early 2026.
As reported by foreign media, the body is designed to promote stability, manage the cessation of conflict, and oversee the reconstruction of war-affected areas, primarily the Gaza Strip, with the possibility of later expanding to other global conflicts.
The body's structure provides that Trump will remain president for life, while members can serve three-year terms or pay $1 billion to gain permanent membership.
