Three deaths from the virus have been registered in North Macedonia during the current flu season, the Institute of Public Health announced today.
Of these, as stated in the institute's latest weekly report (iph.mk), two flu-related deaths were reported in the third week of 2026.
It is specified that these are a 75-year-old woman from Skopje and a 69-year-old man from Kavadarci, who were hospitalized at the University Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Febrile Conditions in Skopje.
"The deceased had comorbidities and were not vaccinated against seasonal influenza. Laboratory tests confirmed influenza A in both deceased individuals," the report from the Institute of Public Health of North Macedonia states.
