Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that the meeting between MEPs and his political opponents was the funniest in the world.
He added that he was very sorry that our people paid so much attention to those who came, calling the MEPs completely unimportant people.
"These people eat, they don't stop, they don't listen to what the opposition tells them. And they tell them all the worst things about Serbia," Vučić told TV Prva, stating that the opposition's request for the introduction of personal sanctions is particularly impudent.
As he stated, "they can't get over the DOS era where they were pampered, and I don't care what they say, these people have a backbone," mentioning that he was not allowed to visit Jasenovac.
Regarding the opposition's demand that he be arrested over the General Staff, he said that he would not allow (Minister Nikola) Selaković to suffer sanctions and added, "I am guilty, let them persecute me, I dream of being a victim of persecutors."
He also said that he did not ask the former director of the Republic's Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, Dubravka Đukanović, to resign, but rather to be dismissed, because she was "a crook who gave her daughter jobs."
He asked, he said, for a lex specialis to be passed on the General Staff as soon as possible so that there would be no problems, stating that everything was clean and that not a single dinar was taken, but a lot of money from that investment was lost.
