Early elections for the President of Republika Srpska are being repeated today at 136 polling stations in 17 cities and municipalities, based on the decision of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CEC), which found numerous electoral irregularities at those polling stations.

The largest number of polling stations where repeat elections will be held are in Doboj, Zvornik, Laktaši and Bratunac.

Around 85.000 voters have the right to vote in these elections.

The President of the City Election Commission in Doboj, Nenad Paleksić, stated today for Radio Television RS (RTRS) that 17.562 citizens will have the right to vote at 31 polling stations in this city.

He stated that last night the CEC dismissed four presidents of polling stations in Doboj and their deputies and appointed new ones.

He added that the City Election Commission (GIK) issued 404 accreditations and that observers from other cities were also present.

Paleksić pointed out that they had received a report of inappropriate and aggressive behavior by an observer at the polling station in the High School Center, who asked to see the personal documents of voters upon arrival at the polling station, which he had no right to do.

"That observer will be warned not to do that, and if he continues, he will be removed, because that is not allowed. We will not allow Doboj to be turned into an election scandal," he said.

Early presidential elections in RS were held on November 23, after the CEC stripped Milorad Dodik of his presidential mandate, who was sentenced by the Court of BiH to one year in prison and a six-year ban on holding public office for failing to implement decisions of the High Representative in BiH.

A few days ago, the CEC announced results according to which, when votes from polling stations where elections were annulled are subtracted, opposition candidate Branko Blanuša (SDS) has a 5.700-vote lead over the candidate of the ruling Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), Siniša Karan.
