The leader of the ruling coalition in Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, announced today that his party will very soon propose to the parliament in Banja Luka that all transferred competencies from the Dayton Agreement be returned to that entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
After a meeting of the leadership of his Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), Dodik said at a press conference that this would "be a condition for any further talks on BiH."
"This means that the army and border police should be returned to Republika Srpska, that the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH should be abolished, that the intelligence service should be returned, that the BiH budget should have no source revenues, that the fiscal system model should be returned to the jurisdiction of Republika Srpska," Dodik said, adding that he "is not asking for anything that is not foreseen by Dayton."
He claimed that Republika Srpska was "horribly threatened with war by the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina" a few months ago, and called Bosniaks in Bosnia and Herzegovina "enemies of Republika Srpska".
"Republika Srpska has friends and enemies. Our friends are the Russians, the new American administration, Hungary, Israel, Serbia and, I believe, many more democratic countries. We are aware of our enemies. You have to inflict some loss on your enemies every day. Muslims and Muslim Sarajevo are our enemies. They showed that in every place they could," Dodik said.
In October last year, the ruling coalition in Republika Srpska annulled all laws related to the non-implementation of decisions of the High Representative in BiH and the Constitutional Court of BiH, as well as the ban on the operation of some BiH judicial and police agencies in the territory of that entity. This, according to earlier media reports, was a condition for the US administration to lift sanctions against Dodik, his family members and his closest associates.
Dodik today again emphasized "the right of peoples to self-determination," stating that the independence of Republika Srpska is the political goal of the authorities in that entity and that they will not give up on it.
He stated that he would "use all his strength to be part of the victory called an independent Republika Srpska" and added that "Muslims invented Srebrenica because there is no state without bribery."
"If Muslims continue to push further, they will gain our right to self-determination. It is not difficult for us to explain to our friends on a global level that this is about the efforts of Muslims from Sarajevo to subordinate Christians in BiH to their ambitions of a unitary system for BiH," he added.
He called on the opposition in Republika Srpska to talk and engage in strategic dialogue, stating that the entity government, "no matter how bad it is, is better than the opposition."
Dodik also announced the withdrawal of Serbs from the joint institutions of BiH, stating that in that case they would be provided with the salaries they have now. He made such a call a year ago, but only a few Serbs employed in BiH state institutions responded at that time.
The SNSD leader also said that Brussels "is not the place Republika Srpska should look to," repeating the position he expressed a few days ago - that the independence of that entity would currently be recognized by 15 countries.
"Leave Brussels alone, it has failed. 15 countries would recognize us in the first 48 hours. That's enough for me. Some would make a fuss, but that's insignificant. What Lithuania, Latvia, Sweden, what does what they have to say mean? Run away from us. We are here to save ourselves from Muslims who are harming us," he said.
Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić announced the filing of criminal charges against the Central Election Commission (CIK) of BiH, after the SNSD candidate won the early elections for the entity's president.
"They cannot remain unpunished for everything they did to us. After this victory, we are even more prepared. We will have to implement those things that will enable us to protect the will of the citizens," said Minić.
SDA announces criminal charges: "It must not go unpunished"
The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) announced that their legal team will prepare criminal charges against Dodik for inciting national, racial and religious hatred, discord and intolerance.
In a press release, the SDA assessed that he committed this criminal offense with his statements in a recent interview with "LindellTV", and then at press conferences in Banja Luka, in which he made a series of insults against Muslims and Bosniaks.
"Dodik has long crossed all red lines, and his new insult to Bosniaks must not go unpunished. The BiH Prosecutor's Office must finally start doing its job, and not be Dodik's accomplice," the SDA said.
They said that "the silence of Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, on the insults directed at Dodik is shocking," adding that Bećirović is still silent today, just as he was silent when "the kabadahija from Laktaši cursed genocide."
"Instead of reacting, he, together with the Minister (of Foreign Affairs of BiH Elmedin) Konaković and other officials of the (pro-Bosniak coalition) Troika, is anesthetizing the public with claims that Dodik has been defeated, that he is the past and a political corpse. The Troika is co-responsible for Dodik's new offensive," they pointed out in the statement.
They stated that "underestimating Dodik's obvious political-lobbying offensive and remaining silent on his insults" is dangerous for the state.
"Instead of a premature election campaign and creating a false image in the public, Bećirović and other Troika officials, who represent state institutions, should finally understand the seriousness of the moment," the SDA emphasizes.
They say that the least they should do at this moment is take decisive action against the American administration, and domestically support the SDA's demands that Dodik, in accordance with the court ruling of the Court of BiH, be removed from the position of SNSD president.
